Youssef is like many other five-year-olds. He attends kindergarten, plays with his friends at lunch, and enjoys his favorite television shows. Then, he suddenly fell ill with a high fever. Months of doctor’s visits and hospital stays couldn’t do what a television program and Jesus’s embrace could do: heal him.
When Youssef suddenly fell ill, there were no answers. Several visits to different doctors, multiple tests, ultrasounds, MRIs and a month’s stay in the hospital revealed that he had pneumonia. But what would cure it?
While he was away from home in his sterile hospital bed, Youssef found comfort in SAT-7. On yet another Friday in the hospital with no answers, he felt alone as he missed another Sunday school service and time with his friends. Turning the television on to SAT-7, he began watching a live church service from Kasr El Dobarah Evangelical Church in Egypt. Pastor Sameh Maurice was speaking — as if it were directly to Youssef. He was praying for healing for children who were sick in bed. Immediately, Youssef felt strange — as though Jesus Himself were hugging him.
After that, Youssef turned to his mom and told her something strange. “I’m healed.” Tests revealed that he was indeed healed and, two days later, he left the hospital a healthier little boy.
“I felt something strange when Jesus healed me. I am joyful and thank God,” Youssef commented on his interview with the SAT-7 KIDS program Family of Jesus.
When millions of other children watch SAT-7 and hear stories like Youssef’s, they feel Jesus’s embrace providing peace, healing, and reassurance — encouragement that tomorrow will be brighter.
Lord, please heal all children and people who are ill even if they are not following you,” Youssef prayed during his interview with SAT-7.
