Dear Ministry Friends,
The word “unprecedented” has been used a lot in the past two weeks to describe COVID-19, now designated the Coronavirus Pandemic. Unprecedented it is, at least in the modern era and at least in terms of the fear and pandemonium that’s resulted.
SAT-7 believes, and presents daily, the Sovereign God of the Bible. Near the end of his life King David reminded us, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.” (2 Samuel 22:31)
We do not fear, we have faith, but we also reject foolishness by using the resources God gave us to prepare, to take preventative precautions, to protect ourselves and to love our neighbor.
We’re all working with a “New Normal,” and it appears this may continue for several months to come. So we’re taking actions to adjust our operations.
SAT-7 in the Middle East and North Africa
In this unprecedented worldwide health crisis, SAT-7 is:
- still broadcasting daily, the way, the truth, and the life in Jesus Christ throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
- presenting live, interactive programs, informing, encouraging, and blessing our viewers.
- teaching children to not be afraid but to take action like washing their hands.
- realizing that with its capacity to broadcast directly into homes, SAT-7’s ability to connect isolated and anxious people with the fellowship of believers in the Church is critical for providing information and hope.
- connecting with MENA churches, most of which are closed, assisting them in ministering to their congregations.
- working to protect and care for the health and well-being of our staff.
- suspending travel, working at home where possible, conducting meetings online.
- praying for our viewers, donors, and friends.
SAT-7 USA is:
- restricting travel and working largely from home.
- meeting for prayer and decision-making online.
- calling our donors and friends, checking on and praying for them.
- scheduling online seminars, conversations, and prayer times with supporters and staff.
- producing more videos and other resources to reinforce our friends in this difficult time.
Your Partnership
There is no playbook for “unprecedented,” no operations manual for New Normal, just an ongoing effort to make good stewardship decisions we believe God will bless. This is where you can play a particularly important, high impact role.
Please pray every day that our message of reconciliation and hope will go out unhindered in throughout the Middle East and North Africa. In the face of a threatening disease, people’s hearts are open, and they are looking for answers that make sense, a faith that works. Christ, we know, is the answer.
Please make a special gift today – online, easier in the midst of lock-downs and social distancing – via sat7usa.org/give. Your financial partnership goes directly to keeping Christian teaching on the air in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish.
You might even want to consider underwriting one day of broadcasting at just $670 per day. You can do so at www.sat7usa.org/sponsor-a-day.
Our Partnership
Importantly, how can we pray for you? Let us know, because we care about you and your challenges and opportunities during this pandemic. You can share your thoughts at www.sat7usa.org/prayer-requests.
And in these unprecedented times, with David the psalmist, shepherd-king we can trust the Lord’s “unfailing love” and his “strong right arm.” And we can say, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.” (Psalm 130: 5)
May God bless and keep you,
Dr. Rex Rogers, President of SAT-7 USA
