as over 5,000 women are subject to "honor killings" each year. All because families believe that they have been dishonored.

SAT-7 offers a wide array of programs that reaches the whole family. Programs like You are Precious reminds women that they are precious in God's eyes. Other programs like Needle and New Thread allow women to openly discuss that with which they struggle and get advice. Still others provide counselling on issues involving marriage and child-raising. All to show just how important women—as mothers, sisters, community leaders—are in shaping society.

Widows in the Middle East face hardships we cannot even begin to describe. Viewed as lower than second-class citizens, widows are often placed in difficult situations, like a women nicknamed God's Daughter. She called into the live SAT-7 praise program We Will Sing for prayer. Wanting to die, she thought her prayers would never be answered. Yet, they were.
