In the past, I didn’t believe in God, but recently I was baptized. My mother-in-law is not a Christian but supported me in becoming a Christian. We were both watching your channel when you invited us for a prayer. And she lifted up her hands and prayed with you. I was very surprised and impressed. You are making really good and effective programs. The Lord works in places you cannot always see."
— Viewer in Türkiye
When young viewer Barbara movingly shared about the loss of her mother in a call to a live SAT-7 KIDS program, another child felt compelled to call in and pray for her.
“Lord Jesus, help all the people who are sad and everyone in need. Help them and help my friend Barbara endure this situation just as You help me in my life,” Miral prayed during an episode of Jesus is our Strength.
Earlier in the show, Barbara shared about the heartbreaking loss of her mother and how she had also experienced people making fun of her. She told presenters Fady and Manessa how her faith had been a source of strength and comfort through all the pain.
“Since Mom passed away, God has never left me,” Barbara said. “I am certain that God is always with us. He sees all our sadness and our tears are precious to Him.”
In a very moving exchange, Fady shared how he still feels the loss of his father after recently marking the fifth anniversary of his passing.
He encouraged young viewers to hold onto Jesus especially after losing a loved one because He has conquered death, and this is not the end.
As Miral prayed for Barbara, the presenters highlighted how encouraging it is for viewers to support each other in prayer.
“It is wonderful that we are a family together like this,” said Manessa. “I am sure Barbara is listening to you and really loved your prayer.”
The prayer box challenge involved young viewers celebrating answered prayers with their families and with SAT-7 KIDS.
Collecting Prayers
Unity in prayer among young viewers was also evident in a SAT-7 KIDS social media campaign that invited children to make a prayer box with their families. It is part of a wider initiative in which children can win badges and gifts for participating in various activities.
The prayer box challenge involved young viewers celebrating answered prayers with their families and with SAT-7 KIDS. Some children were inspired to take it further by going out into their local communities to ask friends and neighbors for their prayer requests.
Marianne Awaraji, SAT-7 ARABIC’s Viewer Support Manager, said: “One of the main reasons we wanted to encourage this initiative is because we deeply believe that prayer can become a beautiful, shared experience between parents and children, not just as an individual activity.
“Through the prayer box, families are learning to pause together, write their prayers, thank God for answered prayers, and talk openly about faith within the home. In a region where many families face pressure, uncertainty, or isolation, we want children to grow up knowing that God listens to them personally and that prayer is part of everyday life.”
