“I Had the Urge to Check the Garbage”

27th August 2025

There is no perfect place we have to go to find salvation. Thankfully, Jesus meets us where we are. Ediz* from Türkiye shared the surprising origin of his salvation and how he became a believer in Christ.

Ediz said, “One day, when I was about to go on a trip, I had the urge to check on the garbage and take the bag out before leaving the house. As I looked inside, I realized there was a book there. It wasn’t clear where it came from. I took it out, and on the cover, it said ‘The New Translation of the Gospel.’” In a seemingly simple house chore, Jesus revealed himself to Ediz.

He continued, “I took the book out, cleaned it up, and safely put it somewhere in my house. Every so often, I would remember the book was there, and I felt the urge to look through it.” What appeared to be an ordinary book to Ediz soon became a source of transformation.

“I felt I had to search online for anything related to Christianity. I found some testimonies that were shared on SAT-7 TÜRK. I kept searching online for more, watching SAT-7 YouTube videos that talked about Christianity and Jesus,” he said. “I continued my Bible readings and eventually, I attended a church. Now I know that I am a follower of Christ.”

Thank you for joining SAT-7 in helping to share the Gospel with people in the Middle East and North Africa. Because of your support, viewers like Ediz are exploring resources that are guiding them towards salvation.
