Hundreds of children are gathering near Alexandria, Egypt this week to sing, play, create, and explore faith together. And thanks to SAT‑7 KIDS, families across the region can share in the experience from home.
From August 23-26, around 500 children are taking part in the third annual Children of Light Conference, exploring this year’s theme: “He has spoken to us by His Son.”
Many more children and their families will be able to enjoy the event on TV as SAT‑7 KIDS broadcasts live from the conference over four days, carrying its songs, stories, and biblical messages far beyond Egypt.
Produced in partnership with the Children of Light service from the Brethren Church in Egypt, the conference has been deliberately designed around participation, both for those attending in person and those watching at home and online.
Biblical stories and Christian teaching are explored through stage performances, workshops, crafts, hands-on activities, games, and challenges. And there are interactive elements for viewers, including songs, quizzes, and prizes.
Vox pops filmed during the event are capturing the children’s thoughts and reactions. Some of these will be shared across SAT‑7 KIDS’ social media platforms along with live videos, songs, stories, and reels.
Now entering its third year, the Children of Light Conference has become increasingly well-known with previous events gaining an enthusiastic response from viewers.
Fareed, writing to SAT-7 KIDS on Facebook following last year’s event, called it “a wonderful and fruitful conference that fosters creative thinking.”
Rima, another viewer in Egypt, was equally supportive: “The Children of Light Conference is a distinguished and highly impactful event for children. May God bless you and use you more and more.”
Around 500 children are expected to take part in this year’s conference with countless more participating from home.
