For many believers, following Jesus is a journey of discovering hope and truth in circumstances that are far from easy. For Masoud, a man from Afghanistan, that journey began through years of observing the world around him and searching for a better way.
Masoud served in the Afghan army for many years before leaving after the Taliban came to power. As he witnessed the behavior and actions of the group, he began thinking more deeply about his own beliefs and the path he wanted to follow. Through that searching, he came to recognize faith in Jesus Christ as the best way forward.
When Masoud connected with SAT-7’s Viewer Support Team, he shared something deeply meaningful: he had already accepted faith in the Lord in his heart and soul, and during their conversation, he openly confessed his faith in Jesus. The team celebrated this beautiful moment with him and encouraged his desire to grow in his understanding of God’s Word.
Yet following Christ comes with significant challenges for Masoud. Because phones are regularly checked, he is afraid even to have a Bible app on his phone. He also cannot safely possess a physical Bible.
The Viewer Support Team encouraged Masoud to participate in educational classes when possible and to send questions that could be answered safely. They prayed together and agreed to remain connected.
In a place where openly following Christ can be dangerous, Masoud’s faith is a testimony to God’s work in the hearts of those who seek Him. Even when access to the Bible is difficult, God continues to draw people to Himself and strengthen His children.
Thank you for supporting SAT-7’s mission to make God’s love visible in the Middle East and North Africa. Viewers like Masoud are being encouraged in their faith because of your generosity.
