One of the deepest human needs is to be seen and heard. Even those with a strong faith can experience seasons of loneliness, wondering if anyone truly understands what they are carrying.
Rachida, a second-year college student from Egypt, reached out to SAT-7’s Viewer Support Team to share her heart. “I have a close relationship with God and see Him as my Father,” she explained. “I talk to Him often and experience His guidance and comfort.”
Yet despite her faith, Rachida wrestled with feelings of solitude. She found herself pouring into others but often feeling that the care she received in return did not reflect the same love and investment.
The Viewer Support Team listened carefully to her story, recognizing both her desire to bless others and her need to receive care in healthy ways. They encouraged Rachida to establish healthy boundaries, express her needs honestly, and remember that God never intended for her to carry more than she could bear. Together, they discussed practical next steps, prayed, and asked God to continue guiding her.
The conversation became a turning point. “Our conversation made a huge difference for me,” Rachida shared. “It matters to be heard, and that is something I have been missing. It matters that someone listens without talking about themselves or diminishing my pain.”
She also found hope in the practical encouragement she received. “Your help has improved my situation a lot,” she said. “I also hope to do this for others tomorrow and in the days to come in a professional way, if God allows it.”
Rachida’s story reminds us that God often ministers through compassionate listening. When people are met with grace, wisdom, and truth, they not only find healing for themselves, but they are equipped to become a source of encouragement for others. What began as a conversation about loneliness became an opportunity for God to strengthen Rachida for the work He has prepared for her.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Thank you for partnering with SAT-7. God is faithfully building His Church across the Middle East and North Africa, one life at a time.
