Young Moroccan Women Find Faith and Freedom

5th February 2025

SAT-7 is hearing story after story from women who have encountered the transformative love of Christ. As they enter into relationship with God, many are finding the hope and freedom they have longed for, including two SAT-7 ARABIC viewers from Morocco.

Marianne Awaraji, SAT-7 ARABIC’s Audience Relations Manager, said that there has been a “surge in engagement” from women in the region, reflecting “a growing hunger among women to know the love and truth of the God who sees.”

Questions Lead to Christ

Amany,* a 20-year-old woman from Morocco, reached out to ask for prayer for her health and another personal matter. But it turned into one of the most important conversations of her life.

Sharing a photo of a cross-shaped birthmark on her neck – something that she always considered a message from God – Amany said: “I’ve had this mark since birth. What does it mean? Is God trying to tell me something?” Though not a Christian, she has always had a sense of connection with God. “I’ve been thinking about Jesus since I was a child, and especially now during my illness.”

After hearing our Viewer Support Team member explain to her who Jesus is and why He came into the world, Amany was compelled to find out more. “How can I come closer to Christ?” she asked. “How do I become a Christian? What do I need to say?” After coming to see Jesus as her Savior, she was ready to take the next step. “Yes, He is my only hope in life,” she said. “I accept His salvation.”

Amany’s faith is continuing to grow. “How can I deepen my relationship with Him?” she asked us recently, before sharing how God’s Word was beginning to shape and strengthen her faith.

“I Want to Be Free”

Another young Moroccan woman, a student named Lina,* responded to a SAT-7 ARABIC campaign about freedom from sin. Feeling trapped by a vice she couldn’t overcome, she asked, “How can I break free from this sin? I keep falling into it and can’t stop. Is there hope for me?”

We walked Lina through the truth of how sin enslaves us before sharing the great news of God’s love and the freedom available in Christ. She was deeply moved. “I never thought there was a way out,” she shared. “But now I see how much God loves me and how He has made a way for me through Jesus.”

Lina’s desire to break free from sin and follow Jesus was strong. “I want to be free,” she insisted. “I want to accept Him as my Savior.” After our team prayed with Lina, she started reading the Gospel of John and praying regularly. “The more I pray, the closer I feel to God,” she shared with us.

One of the highlights of talking with Lina – as it has been with many SAT-7 viewers – was explaining the new creation and encouraging her to focus on the bright future God is giving her. Lina is now free from the chains of her past and engaged with a discipleship team to deepen her relationship with God.

“Thank you for helping me find this freedom,” she said to a member of our team.

Please Pray:
