Sometimes, faith begins in the middle of circumstances that seem impossibly dark. For Ariamehr, a man from Iran who had endured years of illness, financial hardship, and loss, discovering Christ brought an unexpected peace.
Ariamehr shared that he became a believer only about a week before contacting SAT-7. For 15 years, he had lived with a painful illness. As war disrupted access to medication and prices soared, obtaining the treatment he needed became nearly impossible. Alongside his illness came financial pressures, rent, and the heartbreak of losing someone he loved.
“For the past few months, my life has been completely in darkness,” he shared. At one point, Ariamehr relied on tranquilizers and sleeping pills simply to get through the days. But after placing his faith in God, he experienced something he described as profoundly different.
“Since I believed… I put my head on the pillow and sleep so peacefully at night.” Even while experiencing intense physical pain, Ariamehr’s perspective began to change.
Rather than asking why God had allowed his suffering, he began thanking Him and praying for others. “I said, ‘God, thank You for choosing me,’” he shared. “This illness didn’t go to my parents or friends. You chose me so that they would remain healthy.”
His new faith also gave him a desire to see others experience the same hope and peace he had discovered.
“With my heart, I ask God to heal this and for this path to be smoothed,” he said. “I ask God that this light that He lit in my heart… may happen to everyone.”
Ariamehr’s testimony reminds us that faith does not mean difficult circumstances suddenly disappear. Instead, Christ can bring light into the darkness and transform the way we face suffering. Even amid uncertainty, Ariamehr has found a peace he wants to share with the world.
Thank you for supporting SAT-7. Your prayers and generosity are helping to shape the Middle East and North Africa with God’s love.
