Peace Beneath the Waves

Life can bring waves of difficulty, weariness, and uncertainty. For Saman in Iran, faith in Jesus Christ has given him a deep sense of peace that remains steady beneath life’s changing circumstances.

“Ever since I came to faith, I have always found a peace and stability deep in my heart,” Saman shared. He remembered an illustration from a SAT-7 presenter comparing faith in Christ to the bottom of the ocean. While waves may churn on the surface, the depths remain calm.

Saman said this picture beautifully describes his experience of following Jesus. Though difficulties may come, his faith provides a place of peace and stability.

Before becoming a believer, Saman was uncertain about what happens after this life. Now, knowing that eternal life is real has brought him joy and a renewed perspective. “Realizing that this world is not in vain” has lifted his heart and helped him see his life differently. He is also grateful for his new identity in Christ and for the presence of Jesus in his daily life.

Saman’s desire is not simply to receive from God but to serve Him faithfully. “I hope I can be a good servant to Him and carry out His commands in the best possible way,” he said.

His testimony is a beautiful reminder that while life may be filled with waves, our hope in Christ reaches deeper than the circumstances we face. In Him, believers can find a peace and stability that does not depend on what is happening on the surface.
