Every day, God grants us the grace to start fresh and live according to His will. However, when life has become a cycle of brokenness, it can feel impossible to walk with Him while carrying our sins with us. Instead, we face turmoil and make decisions that lead us further away.
Thankfully, God does not count our sins or hold them against us. Damoun, a viewer from Iran, shared his testimony with SAT-7 about his life-changing experience from being bankrupt, convicted, and broken to a life of transformation.
Damoun said, “Four years ago, on a cold winter night, while I was bankrupt, convicted, broken, caught in addiction, and in absolute despair, I had an amazing encounter with Jesus Christ.” During the rough winter nights followed by the rough ways of his life, Damoun was blessed with hope.
He continued, “A single sentence from that encounter was enough to captivate my heart and soul: ‘God is a Father who sacrificed His only Son to save your life.’ That very night, I prayed and asked Jesus to come into my life. From the next day onwards, my life was transformed, and the light of hope came into my heart.”
While Damoun’s newfound faith in Christ was a blessing to his life, it also came with some lessons about the way he was living. He said, “At first, I thought that since God is a Father, He should meet all my needs and send me a suitcase full of money from heaven! For He had said: ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’”
Thankfully, Damoun listened to the teachings of Jesus and began to live out his faith. “Later, through the teaching I received, I understood that the Lord is with me as I go through the hardships of this world, guiding me through all my troubles.”
Becoming a Christian does not automatically mean your life will be easy. Living as Jesus lived can be hard, but it is necessary. Damoun said, “I have overcome many challenges with His help, and although I still face challenges in life, I believe that with the Lord’s presence, I will get through all of them. I am grateful for this encounter and this extraordinary gift.”
Please pray for viewers like Damoun to come to know Christ. God is at work in the Middle East and North Africa. Your support is making a difference.
