The Bible warns about yoking yourself with nonbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14). Unfortunately, when those nonbelievers are your mentor, it’s difficult to go against them. However, Simin from Armenia found a way to break free of the hold her mentor had on her.
Simin shared, “A pupil always accepts all that their teacher says as truth. For a long time, I tried to tell Christians to help them understand that the person depicted on the cross is not Jesus Christ. This is what I was taught.” Fortunately, Simin had the longing to know more about Jesus.
She continued, “I wanted to know Christ, but the teacher told us we may not choose any way other than the one they told us, and that if we did so, it would be a great and unforgivable sin. But then I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ.” Simin’s life was forever changed when she pursued Jesus.
“When I came to know Christ, I understood that my teacher wanted to conceal the truth from me. For eighteen years now, I have believed in Jesus. I understand that there is no sin that cannot be forgiven because God has loved me so much that He has adopted me as His child,” she said. “I came across SAT-7 via satellite television. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”
